Teacher Michael
Denney was given his spiritual name "Shabd Singh"
while studying Kundalini Yoga. The name "Shabd" is
a Yogic word which means "An energetic sound
current which dissolves the ego and cuts through to
the truth, allowing one to operate more fully from
the authentic Self."

Michael Denney began his committment to spiritual work in his youth. Michael entered Bible school with plans to enter seminary and become a minister. After a few years of formal study and field work, Michael left his religious studies and concluded that organized religion was not the avenue for service he was meant to follow.
Michael entered a dark time of self-searching. During this time, he graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a B.A. in Theatre Arts.. Soon after graduation, Michael co-founded The Open Fist Theatre Company in Hollywood, CA. During this time, Michael began experimenting with meditation and visualization techniques for his acting students. At this time, Michael stumbled on a very rare, esoteric form of Taoist internal martial arts. It was so rare that it didn’t even have a name. It was simply referred to as “The Tao” by his instructor. After a few years of intense study, Michael was given the rank of assistant instructor and eventually went on to start his own Tao martial arts class. Michael’s hunger for energetic sciences continued to grow and he began studying Kundalini Yoga and meditation with Yoga Master Dr. Gurudev Singh Khalsa. Michael then continued to expand his practices with Taoist Meditation and Shamanic psycho-transformative techniques. At this time, Michael began studying traditional West African drumming with Yoruba Drum Master and Ifa Priest, Baba Ayo Adeyemi and traditional Yoruba Talking Drum Master Francis Awe. The result was that Michael found a multi-dimensional approach to Psycho-Spiritual-Energetic technologies. He found that by combining complementary techniques, the results were highly accelerated and balanced. It is Michael’s deep desire to share these powerful technologies in a non-religious, practical and healing environment which fosters individual experimentation.
